Raheem Sterling has revealed the mentality that Man City have in order to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title and potentially claim an unprecedented quadruple this season. City and Liverpool are neck and neck at the top of the table, with City leading the Merseyside club by a single point with eight games remaining.
The Blues are in contention to win all four trophies available to them this season as they have already claimed the Carabao Cup, are up against Swansea City in the FA Cup quarter-finals and face Tottenham in the last eight of the Champions League. City looked to have their work cut out to defend their title when they fell seven points behind Liverpool after losing to Newcastle in January and Sterling has revealed how City clawed their way back to the top.
“It’s about persistence. Sometimes you are down and disappointed, but you have to keep going, keep winning our games and focus on ourselves,” the 24-year-old told Sport360.
“That’s what the manager told us and what we have been doing. Now nothing changes either. We are taking things game by game, the Premier League, the Champions League and now the FA Cup.”
