Steven Gerrard is back at Anfield and no, this time not to just watch another home game. This time, he is back to shape the future of the club, to help Liverpool regain the lost supremacy in the League. Much to the delight of all the Liverpool fans, the club announced that the English club legend Steven Gerrard is now appointed as a full-time academy coach. This will be a massive boost to the youth development of the club, of which Gerrard was a part of as a player himself.

Why is Gerrard so important?

The club legend left for MLS in May 2015 after 710 appearances, 186 goals, 10 trophies and endless moments of brilliance and beauty which the fans will always remember him for.  Being a part of the setup himself, Gerrard sleeps, dreams and breathes Liverpool. He is the very embodiment of passion and dedication to the club, who never left despite huge offers from clubs across Europe. The ex-captain will bring in a lot of experience with him. After more than two decades in the game, Gerrard’s understanding of the game is beyond impeccable.
