Pakistan cricket team is currently in New Zealand to play the bilateral Test series. The first of the two-match Test series is currently being held at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. The Boxing Day Test started on a great note as both teams gave absolutely everything to battle it out at each other.
The hosts are in the driver’s seat at the moment. It was no surprise in seeing the Kiwis have an edge over the visitors considering the manner in which they played cricket. The first four days have come to a close. Pakistan still needs 302 runs to win the Boxing Day Test with 7 wickets in hand.
Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam remain unbeaten at the crease as Day 4 came to a close. As things stand, New Zealand has a great chance of sealing the Test. It would be quite interesting to see how the visitors respond to the hosts’ bowling attack on the fifth and final day.
Streaker runs onto the field during New Zealand vs Pakistan match
The match between New Zealand and Pakistan made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. On Day 1, during New Zealand’s batting, a naked man invaded the ground and interrupted the play. Had it not been for tight security protocols, a bizarre incident wouldn’t have happened.
The commentators were quite confused after seeing the streaker running on the field. The stranger breached the security and ran all over the ground on the opening day of the Test. The video of which went viral on social media portals.
The streaker disturbed the gameplay just as when New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was about to take guard. The spectators couldn’t control their laughter after watching the unexpected scenes.
What started as a funny incident turned out to be a massive outrage. The manner in which security personnel manhandled the streaker took everyone by shock. The personnel forcefully pushed the man to the ground to stop him.

Kiwis favourites to win the first Test
Tim Southee and Trent Boult provided a great start to the game as the pacers got rid of Shan Masood and Abid Ali for ducks. Without even getting off the mark, the visitors lost 2 wickets inside 3 overs.
Pakistan was under pressure early on in the game. Southee continued to keep the Pakistani batsmen in check by bowling in the right line and length. The right-arm fast bowler dismissed Haris Sohail for 9 runs.
Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam showed some defiance as they scored 34 and 21 runs on Day 4. Azhar Ali smashed 3 fours while his partner Fawad Alam hit 4 fours.
The visitors still have a mountain to climb and have no chance to win the game on the final day. They will have to play defensive cricket in order to settle for a draw. However, that remains highly unlikely.
