Arsenal’s great start to their league campaign carried on with an emphatic 4-1 win over shambolic Sunderland side. Arsenal with 23 points and are level on points with City who are on top of the table just behind the goal difference. Alexis Sanchez opened up the scoring for it in 18th minute but Sunderland equalised a little later only to collapse by the end of the game.
Arsene Wenger’s side has a new feel about them this season and with everyone performing now it seems as if Arsenal would give anyone a fight for the title.
Olivier Giroud hit brace to make a statement for himself after falling in the ranks at Arsenal’s starting XI, also Alexis Sanchez continued his great form netting two and and an excellent over-all display.
We look at the ratings for Arsenal’s players in their 4-1 win over Sunderland.
Petr Cech – 6/10
Hardly had anything to do in the game as Arsenal were completely dominant in possession but he was alert whenever needed. Conceded the penalty.
Hector Bellerin – 6/10
The Spaniard’s forward runs were too much at times for Sunderland defenders and they were left chasing shadows of him. His linkup on the right flank also has been one of the key factors of Arsenal’s attacks.
Shokdran Mustafi – 7/10
An absolute rock in Arsenal’s defense and hardly let anything penetrate. Exposed a few times with his desire to get higher up the pitch to win the ball.
Laurent Koscielny – 7/10
Arsenal’s one of the most consistent performers. Leading by example. Was absolutely astute in his display.
Francis Coquelin – 7.5/10
He broke everything in the middle of the park. Won the ball and covered the Arsenal’s defense.
Mohamed Elneny – 7/10
Pulled the strings for Arsenals and kept the play ticking for them. Completed most no. of passes. Very smart in his display.
Mesut Ozil – 7/10
Talismanic display from the German. Created a lot of chances for others and should’ve scored in the first half when Alec Oxlade-Chamberlain let him through the Sunderland defense.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7/10
A brilliant cross to Alexis Sanchez which opened up the scoring for Arsenal. The youngster was brilliant and his quick feet were too much of a menace for Sunderland’s defense.
Alex Iwobi – 6/10
Teenager struggled at the start but then grew as the game progressed. Wasted quite a few chances which he should’ve buried.
Alexis Sanchez – 8/10
Best player on the pitch for Arsenal. Bagged in two goals along with a great overall display of football. Sunderland threw everything to stop him but he was on a roll.
Olivier Giroud – 8/10
Came on as a sub in 70th minute and made a quick impact with two goals from two touches.
Aaron Ramsey – 6/10
Sent in the dying minutes to get some game time as the Welshman returned from the injury that kept him out for a while.
