Suresh Raina reveals the BIG reason behind MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings’s success over the years

Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina spoke about how the players will be facing the weather conditions as the IPL 2019 begins kicks off from March 23

Chennai Super Kings have been among the top most competing teams of the Indian Premier league ever since its inception in 2008. The team has managed to be at the top four in all of the editions of the tournament and has lifted the title thrice, same as that of with Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians.

With the 2019 edition of the IPL round the corner, CSK’s Vice captain and one of the crucial members of the team Suresh Raina gave some insight into the weather conditions the players would be facing with the temperature expected to be really high in March and April. Raina also spoke about the team’s success in the IPL over the years.

CSK recently took to their official twitter account to share a short video in which Raina can be seen stating that players would be facing a tough phase due to the weather conditions in March. It will be the first time that the tournament will begin in the aforesaid month.

“The best thing about CSK is we played really well as a unit. And we haven’t changed much (from 2018 edition) and have only two new players in the squad. So I think that is the success ratio for CSK,”Raina said in the video.

AUTHOR’S TAKE:

Suresh Raina has been a core player of the CSK setup ever since the IPL was incepted in 2008. He has proven his might whenever the team needed him thus making him a crucial player in the franchise’s success over the years. Raina has 4144 runs playing for CSK, and a total of 4985 including the runs he has scored playing for other franchisees. The veteran will definitely be looking forward to surpass the 5000 IPL runs mark in the forthcoming season.

As far as the team is considered as a whole, CSK weren’t in to bidding much this year’s IPL auction held in Jaipur in mid December last year. The holders of the IPL Trophy will be focusing on the retained players who will form the core and the essence of their squad for the upcoming season.
