The German is rumored to be leaving Arsenal at the end of the month and disagrees over the transfer of this La Liga player.
It’s a tough time to be an Arsenal fan. The fans are already pestered with the club having no funds to sign any new player. Aaron Ramsey is set to leave the club and Arsenal seem to be losing the race of top 4. Things gone more bad after Sven Mislintat rumored to leave at the end of the month. It seems Sven Mislintat is in disagreement with Unai Emery over the signing of this player.
Sven Mislintat does not fully support Unai Emery and Arsenal’s push to sign Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, according to reports. On Tuesday, reports claimed that Mislintat is set to leave Arsenal having spent just 14 months as the club’s head of recruitment. Mislintat joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in November 2017. It is understood that he is unhappy with his position at the club. He is also not working cohesively with the director of football Raul Sanllehi. Mislintat was heavily involved in Arsenal’s recruitment of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi. But according to the BBC, Arsenal’s inability to spend money on transfer fees during the January window has ’caused issues’ with Mislintat.
It’s also claimed that Emery and Sanllehi are the key drivers behind Arsenal’s efforts to sign Suarez from Barcelona, while Mislintat has alternative midfield targets. Arsenal and Barcelona have been in talks over a deal for Suarez this month but the Gunners can only sign the 25-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season. Emery remains a huge admirer of Suarez having worked with the midfielder for one season at Sevilla. Barcelona, meanwhile, is open to allowing Suarez to leave on loan. However, they insist on a €20 million option to buy in the deal.
Author’s Take:
It seems to be a major blow for Arsenal to see Mislintat leaving. The whole project of post-Wenger era seems to be derailing now. However, Emery’s role was to give a nod on player’s signing and so far he seems to be invested more than that. The German has a proven history of searching young gems. Arsenal should stick with him and work it out.
