T20 WC 2022: Dinesh Karthik is currently the longest serving player of the Indian cricket team. He made his international debut against England in an ODI match in 2004.
Since then, he has been in and out of the national reckoning due to stiff competition. As the years progressed, MS Dhoni was the preferred wicketkeeper for Team India.
A lot had changed since then. MS Dhoni would go on to lead Team India and steer the team to three ICC titles – ICC T20 World Cup 2007, ICC ODI World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
Team India became a formidable force to be reckoned with under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. While we thought Dinesh Karthik wouldn’t make a comeback, he defied the odds and proved everyone that he can be a handy cricketer even at the age of 37.

Dinesh Karthik’s last ball six against Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy final will forever be etched in the memory of the fans from every nook and corner of the country.
He played vital knocks for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last season where he enjoyed scoring runs. Several cricket experts applauded him for his batting masterclass.
