T20 WC 2022: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which is scheduled to be hosted in Australia, will feature a tough Indian team. According to veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Robin Uthappa, Indian team will have a good go in the T20 World Cup.
India‘s team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was unveiled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, September 12. The eighth iteration of the prestigious competition, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, is slated to take place from October 16 to November 13.
Robin Uthappa claimed that India has a “very formidable” top-4 and a strong lower-middle order when speaking on ESPNcricinfo. The team management, in his opinion, will need to “establish clarity on the No. 5 spot,” he says.
They just need to establish the No. 5 position clearly. The top four appear to be quite strong, and the lower-middle order appears to be stable as well. It is between Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda that a wise decision needs to be made.
T20 WC 2022: The Indian Bowling Attack Looking Great – Robin Uthappa
In addition, Robin Uthappa expressed his confidence in India’s pace attack, which consists of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh. Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami are both listed as reserves.
“They have a left-arm fast bowler in Arshdeep Singh, who will be quite effective in the final few overs, which is something I believe is crucial. Bhuvi has demonstrated his abilities, and I believe he will be successful in Australia as well.” Robin Uthappa
He further added. “The fast-bowling lineup has me feeling extremely confident, and the bowling is going well. All three of the bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, and Ashwin are clever, cunning, and wicket-takers. They’ll always be on the lookout for wickets.”
Shami was probably chosen since he has experience playing in many previous ICC competitions, in my opinion. They will have a player with experience available in case they need a substitute.
Robin Uthappa in IPL
Indian cricketer Robin Venu Uthappa competes for Kerala in the domestic game. In ODI and T20I matches, Robin has competed for team India. In the IPL right now, Robin Uthappa represents Chennai Super Kings. April 2006, during the seventh and last game of the English tour of India, Uthappa made his One Day International debut. All in all, he made a productive debut.
He scored 86 runs as the opener before being run out. For an Indian player making their limited-overs debut, it was the highest score ever. He is known as “The Walking Assassin” because of his strategy of charging the bowler from below. He was crucial to India’s victory at the 2007 ICC World Twenty20. Uthappa was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for 3 crores (US$380,000) in anticipation of the 2020 IPL season.
He participated in 12 games during the season, scoring 196 runs with the best score of 41 and an average of 16.33 runs. Before the 2021 Indian Premier League, he was moved to Chennai Super Kings in January 2021. He helped Super Kings advance to the ninth IPL finals with his 63 runs off 44 balls against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1. Moreover, Uthappa was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for his base price of 2 crores during the 2022 IPL Auction.
