T20 World Cup 2021: It was a wild night for the Australian players as they went on to win their first T20 World Cup. Moreover, the Aussies convincingly gave a beating to the Kiwis on Sunday night.
Toss was going to be a crucial factor in the game and Aaron Finch went on to bowl first. Moreover, the usual norm in this T20 World Cup has been to win the toss and chase.
Moreover, this T20 World Cup was a very disappointing one because a lot depended on the toss itself. But New Zealand got off to a balancing start as they did not lose many wickets.
However, the run rate of the Kiwis was very low due to the innings of Martin Guptill. The New Zealand opener went on to play a knock of 28 runs from just 35 balls. This proved to be catastrophic for the Kiwis in the first innings of the T20 World Cup final.
But Kane Williamson went on to play a fine T20 style inning against Australia. Moreover, he also completely dominated Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. The New Zealand captain went on to score 85 runs from just 48 balls. And New Zealand reached a total of 172 runs in the twenty overs.
However, Australia lost their captain at just five runs. But Mitchell Marsh and David Warner went on to play match-winning innings. As a result of that, Australia quite comfortably won the T20 World Cup final by eight wickets and seven balls remaining in the end.
It was a moment of sorrow for the Kiwis whose hearts were broken after the T20 result. But this was also a moment of joy and celebration for the Australians. This win was even more special because Australia won the T20 World Cup for the first time.
However, things went a bit wild in the dressing room of Australia. Their players did a unique shoe celebration. First Matthew Wade went on to remove his shoe and he then poured some beer into it and drank it. Many other players like Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis also followed the unique celebration.
