T20 World Cup 2021: The T20 World Cup is set to make its comeback after a brief period of five years. Moreover, the last T20 World Cup was played in India. West Indies were crowned as the champions.

They handed a crushing defeat to England at the Eden Gardens. Moreover, Carlos Braithwaite was the hero who took on Ben Stokes like never before. Eventually, the whole tournament was a major success for the International Cricket Council (ICC). But ICC was involved in other projects that were priority for them. Those projects like ICC Test Championship were more important for the International Cricket Council.

However, the T20 World Cup 2021 is going to begin today (17 October). Moreover, the first few matches are going to be the qualifying matches. Many teams such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh are going to lock horns for the qualification.

But the cricket fixtures will be played in the UAE and Oman despite India earning the hosting rights for the T20 World Cup 2021. The BCCI and ICC jointly decided to move the T20 World Cup outside of India to the UAE and Oman due to the coronavirus situation. Hence the games will be played in the Middle Eastern countries.
