T20 World Cup 2022: Here are 3 Overseas Players Performing Good In IPL 2022
1. Daniel Sam

Daniel Sams has a track record of success in the T20 league. The 29-year-old was signed by the five-time IPL champion Mumbai Indians for the 2022 season, and he handled the ball rather well. He played in 11 games and had an 8.81 economy rate with 13 wickets.
The left-arm pacer is a cunning bowler with a variety of deliveries at his disposal. Sams is a ferocious striker who, in addition to his bowling prowess, demonstrated his power-hitting skills in the Hundred 2022. The bowling all-rounder for Trent rockets scored 105 runs at a stunning strike rate of 190.90 in nine games.
He also grabbed seven wickets while bowling, albeit at a poor economy of 10.20. Sams has distinguished himself in T20 competitions all around the world, yet he was left out of the star-studded Australian team for the T20 World Cup in 2022.
2. Faf du Plessis
In the T20 league, Faf du Plessis has been a titan of a player. The 38-year-old has scored an absurd 7930 runs with a strike rate of 130.32 in 308 games. During the just concluded Indian Premier League, he too had a strong bat.
Du Plessis took over as captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2022 campaign. And the seasoned batsman excelled, scoring 468 runs in 16 games with a strike rate of 127.52. Despite his outstanding performance, the Pretoria native was left off of South Africa’s T20 World Cup roster.
Du Plessis has a strong track record with his country’s team as well. The star batsman has amassed 1528 runs at a strike rate of 134.39 in the 50 T20Is he has played so far. However, since his retirement from the game’s longest version last year. The former South African captain has not been taken into account in the white-ball format.

3. Andre Russell

Unquestionably, Andre Russell is one of the top all-around players in the T20 league right now. The 34-year-old is a legend in the game’s shortest format, and this year’s IPL served as a showcase for his talent. The Jamaican-born player was born.
Russell scored 335 runs at an exceptional strike rate of 174.48 in 14 games for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He had a 17-wicket bowling performance for his team. The seasoned all-rounder possesses a destructive swing with the bat. And his batting prowess was on full show in the just-concluded The Hundred tournament as well.
Russell scored 148 runs with a strike rate of 168.18 in six games for the Manchester Originals. Despite Russell’s credentials, the West Indies squad for the next international competition did not accept him.
Desmond Haynes, the head selector for CWI, commented on the noteworthy absence of the player, saying, “We’re still not persuaded. He’s not playing as well as we would want to see him in the tournament. We’ve probably simply opted to move on from the Andre Russell scenario and search for someone who is on form and doing well in the T20 format.
