T20 World Cup 2022: There were reports and widespread speculations surrounding Australian skipper Aaron Finch’s future. Reports added that Finch might consider stepping down as T20I captain.
Earlier, Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald himself added that the team management is giving him plenty of time to consider his future.
Finch has represented the national cricket team in 5 Tests, 146 One Day Internationals and 92 Twenty20 Internationals. Overall, he aggregated 278 runs in red-ball cricket including two half-centuries.
Although Test was not his preferred format, he delivered the goods in ODIs and T20Is. He scored 5401 runs in ODIs at an average of 39.1.
The right-handed batsman slammed 30 fifties and 17 centuries to his name. Moreover, he scored 3120 runs in the shortest format of the game including 2 centuries and 19 fifties.
Under Aaron Finch’s captaincy, Australia won three games, lost once whereas the remaining one ended in the form of a no result.

Meanwhile, the Australian T20I skipper Aaron Finch has opened up about his future. He made it very clear that he is not going to call it quits from the sport.
Moreover, he further added that he is pretty much going to enjoy playing the T20 cricket. Earlier, were long been criticized for their inability to showcase their prowess as far as the T20 World Cup event is concerned.
Needless to say, Aaron Finch and Co braved the challenges that came their way and scripted history in the last year’s marquee event.
Australia made it all the way to the finals of the competition. They defeated New Zealand cricket team in the finals. As a result, they won their first title in T20 World Cup.
As far as this T20 World Cup is concerned, Australia did do pretty well but missed out on qualifying for the semis due to poor NRR.
