T20 World Cup 2022: Virat Kohli hasn’t really enjoyed scoring runs on a consistent basis like he used to. In fact, he hasn’t been meeting the expectations for a long time now.
The entire cricket fraternity wants him to turn up the ante and score a big knocks. Several fans lent out their support to Virat Kohli in his lean patch. Recently, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam posted a positive message for Kohli.
Babar’s powerful message in the need of the hour must have surely boosted Kohli’s hopes. It’s now or never for Kohli who is looking for a way to come out on top. He would be looking forward to doing well in the third ODI.
Earlier, he didn’t feature in the ODI opener due to groin injury. He played the second ODI and there were plenty of expectations of him that he would score a big knock. However that was not to be.

Virat Kohli could score only 16 runs off 25 balls and his departure made things from bad to worse for India. The tourists never recovered from the setback and ended up losing all the wickets.
England got the better of India by 100 runs to level the series at 1-1 with one more game to go. The third and final ODI will kick off on July 17 at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.
T20 World Cup 2022: Brad Hogg gives his opinion on whether Kohli deserves a place in India’s squad for the marquee event
Meanwhile, former Australian chinaman bowler Brad Hogg has come up with his own opinion on whether Virat Kohli deserves a place in India’s squad for the marquee event.
The all-important marquee event will go all guns blazing in Australia in October-November. India will surely rely on Kohli to deliver the goods in the marquee event. Going by the form, one would question whether Kohli would earn a spot in the Indian team.
Although he would be there in the squad for the competition, many reckon that the underfire Kohli might not make it to the playing XI. While responding to Sportskeeda’s query during a media conference, Hogg said the game has become more aggressive.
“On the selection space, I have got my opinion and it’s the same with the Australian team. You pick your best XI for the T20 team. The game has been more aggressive. You’re scoring at higher rates and taking on the bowling. So sometimes you need to make tough decisions. But you still need that batter to bat through the innings,” Hogg said.
The former spinner further added that Kohli is certainly the best at the top of the batting order. He further added that there are quite a few decisions India have to make for better results.
“I think Virat Kohli is best at the top of the order where the field is up and he has got that timing to pierce the field and get his run rate up. So there are a few decisions that India has to make,” he added.
