T20 World Cup 2022: Whether it was the Super 12 stage or the first-round matchups, the T20 World Cup 2022 has seen some pretty exciting games. There hasn’t been a single moment in the match that hasn’t intrigued the supporters, despite the Australian weather’s spoilsport antics.
There were some games where the results were unexpectedly reversed, but there were also some fierce rivalries. The tournament has also featured a lot of upsets.
While Ireland and Zimbabwe shocked everyone in the first-round games to secure a spot in the second round of the competition, Namibia and Scotland, who had been a part of the Super 12 in the previous edition of the tournament, were unable to advance.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), which has been overseeing the Super 12 stage for a week, has selected the top five matches of the competition thus far, placing the gripping India vs. Pakistan match at the top of their list.
India won the match while chasing a score of 16 runs off the penultimate delivery of the final over, making it one of the few games that left fans around the world on the edge of their seats.
The second game on the ICC’s schedule was the match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, which ended in a surprise loss for the Babar Azam-led team as they dropped their second straight match, once more on the game’s penultimate ball.
Zimbabwe defeated the Men in Green with ease to win the T20 World Cup Super 12 for the first time. The final three matches on the list are all first-round contests.
The Scotland vs. Ireland game, which took place at the Bellerive Oval, is ranked third. Thanks to Curtis Campher’s undefeated 72-run innings, Ireland recovered from 61/4 to 176/5. Ireland secured a fantastic victory by chasing down their highest successful target in T20I history.
The game from the first day of the T20 World Cup 2022, UAE vs. Netherlands, is fourth on the list. Both teams fought hard, and the game was full of ups and downs.
While batting first, UAE could only muster 111 runs, but their bowlers did an outstanding job and caused chaos in the second innings. However, the Netherlands batters maintained composure and completed the chase with only one ball remaining.
The final game of Group A, UAE vs. Namibia, was ranked fifth on the list by the ICC. The Netherlands’ chances were dangling by a thin thread because they were entirely dependent on ‘AE’s success, who had already been banned from the second round.
It was an interesting game because Namibia needed to win it to qualify further. UAE held on to their total successfully to secure a victory in the end.
