T20 World Cup 2022: The eighth edition of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 came to a close on Sunday, with Pakistan taking on England in final showdown.

The game between the two top sides went all guns blazing at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in MCG. In the end, it was England who won the battle.

Pakistan did try to put up a good fight with the ball despite a mediocre batting performance in the final. The Three Lions defied the hurdles and won the game.

Jos Buttler and Co lifted the honour as they decorated their trophy cabinet by adding their second T20 World Cup title. England also won the ICC ODI World Cup last year.

Virat Kohli finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer. The right-handed batsman scored as much as 296 runs including four half-centuries.

The likes of Jos Buttler and Alex Hales led the attack by example, more often than not in the tournament. The duo also got featured in the valuable team of the tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav who played a fearless brand of cricket by escalating the team’s scoreboard with terrific strike-rate is also there in the list.

On the other side of the coin, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been named the 12th man. Proteas’ pacer Anrich Nortje is featured on the list.
