T20 World Cup 2022: Three auxiliary players will go with England‘s 18-member squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. Jason Roy tore his calf muscle and would have been able to play in the World Cup.
But he was benched because of recent struggles with his form. Jofra Archer is also absent since he is still recovering from an injury. After having a terrible accident while playing golf, Jonny Bairstow has been ruled out.
After more than a year apart, Ben Stokes has rejoined the T20 fray. Leading the team will be Jos Buttler. Additionally, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have made their comebacks from injury to join the squad.
After the tournament hosts, Australia, and England became the only other side to reveal their T20 World Cup roster. In the squad, there were no major surprises. Reece Topley, who had an outstanding performance in the India and South Africa series, has been added to the official T20 World Cup team.

T20 World Cup 2022: This Is Big Blow For England
The loss of Jofra Archer will be England‘s biggest letdown. Due to a back issue that developed later and an elbow injury, the fast bowler has missed more than a year of play. He was expected to be back for the T20 World Cup.
But his recuperation isn’t looking good. Therefore, he has been disqualified. With the bat, Jason Roy struggled mightily in the series against India. In The Hundred, he backed that up with three ducks in four innings.
Phil Salt steps in to take his spot on the side. At the top of the order, Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler are set to team up. For the competition, the management of the England team has chosen to rely on experience. Numerous players for the 2016 World Finalists are making their injury comebacks.
Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, and Ben Stokes will enter the T20 World Cup without having played a T20 International match. Woakes and Wood will be included in the expanded team while Stokes will miss the Pakistan series.
Chris Jordan and Liam Livingstone will also miss the Pakistan series due to injuries, and Buttler is questionable as he recovers from a calf ailment. After a great home series against India, Reece Topley keeps his spot, although Richard Gleeson and Tymal Mills are only included in the reserves.

Since March 2021, Stokes, England’s Test captain, has been absent from all of his team’s T20 games. Although Mark Wood and Chris Woakes last played on the March Test tour of the West Indies, they were nevertheless selected since both fast bowlers have now fully recovered from their injuries.
