T20 World Cup 2022: Lockie Ferguson, the New Zealand pacer, spoke out about missing the T20 World Cup last year. India organized the marquee event, which took place in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The 2021 T20 World Cup took place in October and November of the previous year. Lockie also disclosed that missing the event was a low point in his professional life. Ferguson’s calf issue kept him from joining the team. He allegedly suffered the injury before the campaign.
The pacer played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 prior to the start of the World Cup. He also appeared to be in good shape during the tournament. The 31-year-old picked up 13 wickets in 8 matches during IPL 2021. He bowled at an amazing average of 17.23 and had pretty good economic figures as well.
Nevertheless, he did admit that missing out on the big event was a serious blow to his career. Ferguson has consistently been a reliable bowler for the New Zealand team.
