The world of professional football is surrounded by uncertainty. Managers are being asked to leave their clubs despite building the club. Players who are hailed as Gods in season are shamed in the following for not displaying the same performance. Then there are teams who do not want to sign Messi even if he comes for free.

The 5 time Ballon d’Or winner, might be hunting for a team to play for at the start of the 2018-19 season. His contract at Barcelona is coming to an end, and there doesn’t seem to be an offer for him. Clubs around the world would enter into a bloodbath, to sign the Argentine.

But there is a club which has refused to sign him, even if Messi came for free. Altinordu, a Turkish second division team are not at all interested in signing him. They have no foreign players in their team, and would not be making an exception even for Messi.

Mehmet Seyit Ozkan said, “Even if Messi wants to play for Altinordu for free, I would definitely reject him.” The team only signs home grown Turkish players and intend to keep it that way.

This makes one thing very clear, Barcelona might not be the only team that doesn’t want Messi to sport their colours.

Things don’t look good for the Argentine forward. It was always imagined, that if Messi ever left Barcelona, it would break the all-time transfer record.

In my opinion, Messi would receive an offer from the Chinese Super League if Barcelona continues to be uninterested. But I guess we will have to sit out on this one and see how things go. Barcelona might just offer Messi a new contract, to capitalise his value.

While he continues to be the leading goal scorer in La Liga, his popularity has declined. His conviction for tax evasion and his stint of announcing retirement are the major reason for his decline. Little did Messi know, that one year might change his career so much.
