Arsenal squad is growing frustrated with Unai Emery’s stale training sessions.
Arsenal tried their best to make up their points against Watford with a two-goal draw. It won’t be wrong to say that Arsenal was not in their best form last Sunday and that they lack the luster while having faults in the defending which made them lose two points to Watford.
The Spanish coach is being criticized for his old tactics and lack of decision making which saw Watford accumulate goals against Arsenal.
The Gunners conceded 31 shots in the match but that overshadowed the lack of cohesive pressing from the players in front of the back four. Although, they managed to escape a loss to Watford but indeed it was a dreadful performance.
The players still feel happy working under Emery but they are growing frustrated over how little he changes up this method, clinging with the same repetitive drills in the training.
Apart from the little strategies and bringing up a few drills on his arrival at the club, he has contributed very little in improving and sharpening Arsenal’s pressing.
He has also expressed his desire for Arsenal to press but this has never been his main plan because Emery does not see pressing as a crucial tactic to work on during training sessions.
Unai Emery is also noted for his use of video analysis which probably is a time to take up some fresh air and players are often found zoning out the training sessions which usually last for more than two years.
Also, according to some reports, the interesting mock games that were played before the match with Under-23 mimicking style of the opponent has been stopped by Unai Emery despite the Gunners loving it.
The criticism that Emery is facing has started growing from all quarters after Arsenal’s poor second-half performance against Watford. They have played three games with no win thus keeping no clean sheet.
In this period, Gunners have managed to collect seven points against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford.
The best part is, Arsenal has managed to get 96 shots in this season that is more than any other team in Europe’s top five League. They are required to come back with incredible wins in the Europa League against Frankfurt on Thursday and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Unai Emery needs to change his training tactics and the refusal to practicing pressing. He is loved by his squad and respected equally but this could change if he remains all stubborn towards his attitude and keeps lacking the qualities of an ideal Manager this season.
