The Gunners display their keen interest in RB Salzburg bright young stars.

Arsenal has registered the interest in the RB Salzburg couple after the Champions League victory.

RB Salzburg marks a scintillating victory in their first Champions League tie for 25 years. The Austrian side lit up Europe last night with the 6-2 win over Genk at Red bull Arena.

Following the glorious victory, and giving an entertaining football game. Salzburg started the Champions League in a style that the home side conceded a shot after just two minutes from the commencing of the game.

Arsenal is keenly observing the progress of RB Leipzig two bright stars with the hattrick from Erling Braut Haaland set the Austrian side on course for a 6-2 win over Genk.

The highly-rated Hungarian playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai who has been a subject of high interest by the Gunners during the summer transfer window also found the net.

The Hungarian professional is not short of rivals. Along with Arsenal, he is chased by Juventus and Inter Milan but would hope that their early interest in Szoboszlai would place them in the top bidders if the Austrian champions choose to cash him out

As per the reports, the initial thought was to make a move at the end of the upcoming season. The 18-year-old was looking forward towards collecting more experience by being at Salzburg before moving to Europe top League.

As for his playstyle, he has confessed in an interview a year ago about the players he has been compared to.

Szoboszlai told,

“A lot of people say that my style of play is close to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic [of Lazio] and Toni Kroos [of Real Madrid]”

It is a great thing to hear that.”

Norwegian international Haaland, son of former Leeds United and Manchester City midfielder Alfe Inge, scored in a 5-1 win away to Tyrol and he involved in giving plenty lately.

In just nine games for RB Salzburg this season he has added 17 goals with his name. In the Under-20 World Cup match against Honduras, he found the net for almost nine times.

RB Salzburg has a history of producing some very fine players in recent years developing talents like that of Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Naby Keita who have also made their name in their times at Salzburg.

Scouts have been sent to check the progress of the Austrian Bundesliga in recent months. But before going any further for new signings Arsenal must assess the polishing of their young wards before mulling over whether to add to it.

While their plans for Midfield will be clear after they will acknowledge about the potential return of Dani Ceballos to Real Madrid once his loan deal ends.

Author’s Take:

Arsenal’s need for a foreign star is strange and the need to fix a backline. Any possible move for any international star will only forbid the growth of two young options already available with Arsenal. Emile Smith Rowe who has returned to fitness and Willock both needs to grow and get all the nurturing which will be stunted once Arsenal signs the Hungarian man.
