The Hundred 2022: The Hundred is a fascinating tournament that made its debut last year. Amidst, a strong second wave of COVID-19 around the globe, the new tournament managed to catch the eyes and ears of the audience.

The cash-rich tournament was already in the pipe many years ago but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed things indefinitely. However, the Hundred made its glamorizing debut in 2021.

England’s new and favourite cricket tournament has eight teams on the offering – Oval Invincibles, London Spirit, Welsh Fire, Northern Superchargers, Manchester Originals, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, Birmingham Phoenix.

James Vince-led Southern Brave went on to win the first edition of the tournament last year. They went on to beat Birmingham Phoenix to lift the trophy. Birmingham Phoenix won the toss and they decided to bowl first at the Lord’s, London.

Southern Brave did not have a good start but they still managed to finish strongly scoring 168 runs with a loss of five wickets in the first inning. Ross Whiteley scored 44 runs from 19 balls and Paul Stirling scored 61 runs from 36 balls.

Birmingham Phoenix had a horrible start after losing two wickets for 14 runs. They were eventually done for 136 runs with a loss of five wickets. Southern Brave won the final match by 32 runs.
