Roma will release their Turkish winger this summer for £40m to European Elites.
AS Roma are reportedly looking for €40 million to part ways with their Turkish winger Cengiz Under this summer, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich seemingly interested. According to latest news the Serie A outfit are ready to sell the player this summer, ending months of speculation.
Under has been heavily linked with a move away from Roma recently but the Italian side have always stood firm in their desire to keep him at the club. Widely recognised as Roma’s star prospect, they were eager to keep hold of this 20 year old, despite interest from some of Europe’s elite. It is believed that they would accept offers of around £50m for Under who has chipped in with six goals and nine assists in 25 games this term.
However, the emergence of Nicolo Zaniolo, who has largely overshadowed Under in Rome this season, may have left them open to a sale at the end of the summer.
The Gunners have been long-term admirers of Under, while Bayern are also looking to reinforce their squad in wide areas. With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery’s best years behind them, the German champions are looking to strengthen that position ahead of next season.
The Serie A club are likely to consider selling Under for big money in the summer window in order to fund balance their financial books. The Turkey attacker joined the Rome-based club in 2017 and has been an essential player for his side over the last 18 months.
Another 19-year-old attacker Nicolo Zaniolo has been drawing the interest of elite clubs as well, but I Lupi are likely to listen to official offers for Cengiz, who they believe could attract big money.
Roma are willing to offload the winger for the fund further investment for next campaign. Roma knows the value of Under and despite of Willing to keep a hold on him they need to depart ways. Unai Emery is understood to be a huge fan and has knocked down the contract.
