Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri would only sign Denis Suarez, the Barcelona central midfielder on one condition.
As per the ESPN pundit Paul Mariner, The blues are highly interested in signing the 24-year old La Liga and Barcelona star Denis Suarez. It is also rumoured that Sarri hopes to convince the midfielder to come to Stamford Bridge. He tried to sign Denis Suarez on two occasions.
The 24-year-old has made just one appearance so far this term and was left out of Barcelona’s squad to face Inter Milan on Tuesday in favour of Carles Alena. The midfielder has spent two years at Manchester City before joining Barcelona but his opportunities have dried up this term and he’s worried about his lack of playing time.
Jorginho and N’golo Kante are mainstays in the side while the improvement of Ross Barkley and the summer signing of Mateo Kovacic has increased the competition. Ruben Loftus-cheek is also vying for a starting spot, while Cesc Fabregas and Danny Drinkwater are used sparingly. While Sarri has been linked with a January move for Suarez, Mariner doesn’t think he’s good enough to be the first choice for the west London side.
He said, “Sarri’s had him on his radar for a long time, When he was at Napoli he tried to sign him a couple of times. I don’t know why they need another midfield player. It looks as if they’re flushed in there. Maybe he just wants to get him in for cover. Sarri knows about him more than I do”.
“I just don’t see how he’s going to get playing time. I don’t see it (happening), I’m sorry, no.”
