Amidst the Recruitment news of United’s Director, Red Devils will face off their rivals over Bristol city youngster.
Woodward reportedly wants to get a director of football in position before any serious recruitment business is delved into, but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from turning.
Bristol City youngster Antoine Semenyo, the race for whom United have entered alongside Chelsea, is one name that continues to attach itself to United – the club sent scouts to watch the on-loan Newport County player in December and, according to Bristol City’s Brian Tinnion the red devils “really like him.”
The state of play with United’s winter transfer business is as follows.
Paul Mitchell. According to reports he has become United’s number one target to be the director of football.
That director of the football role has become a priority for United’s hierarchy since the removal of Jose Mourinho, and RB Leipzig’s Paul Mitchell is the front runner.
Woodward was previously interested in former Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta and current Old Lady sporting director Fabio Paratici.
But Marotta transferred to Serie A rivals Inter Milan and Paratici made clear his plans to remain in Turin, ending United’s hopes of landing either man. That in turn has left Englishman Mitchell at the head of the line.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to fight United all the way over the Bristol City youngster.
Londoner Semenyo made his debut for City at the end of last season and has scored six goals for Newport with the Robins demanding £2million in compensation if he leaves Ashton Gate.
According to the sources, United had sent scouts to watch Semenyo.
Manchester United is seeking for RB Leipzig Paul Mitchell as the Front Runner for Director of football. Though the deal did not reach the formal agreement yet. Also, United is targeting Londoner Semenyo to bring him to Old Trafford but facing huge competition with their PL rivals. Who is going to snatch away the youngster is still not confirmed.
