Arsenal’s trip to Cardiff ended on a positive note as the Gunners secured a hard-fought victory in an enthralling game, 3-2.
Arsenal, after the initial slip, have bounced back to the winning ways as they have now garnered 6 points from 4 games. Arsenal, in their first season Post-Wenger era, lost to Manchester City in the opening game, which was an easy result to swallow. In their next game, Arsenal endured another defeat as Chelsea, under the tutelage of newly appointed Maurizio Sarri, earned a 3-2 victory in a game which saw Arsenal attackers squandering chances after chances.
However, Arsenal and Unai Emery bounced back as they defeated West Ham in their next clash. Against Cardiff City, on Sunday night, they ensured they got their second consecutive victory of this season. The game was an action-packed affair as both sides displayed an attacking brand of football.

— Aaron Ramsey (@aaronramsey) September 2, 2018
For Arsenal’s Star midfielder and Wales International Aaron Ramsey, the trip to Cardiff was a homecoming. The 27-year-old midfielder is a Cardiff City academy product. Ramsey began his professional career with Cardiff as he made 22 appearances for the club before he eventually joined English Premier League behemoths Arsenal.
Speaking after the game, Ramsey said, “We wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity we had today. We had a difficult start against Man City and Chelsea but we’ve bounced back well. The crowd here are superb and we did well to overcome that.”
As aforementioned, Ramsey earlier plied his trade for Cardiff and this midfielder said he would forever be grateful for it. He said, “It’s always emotional, I love coming back here and playing on this pitch in front of those fans. This is where I was brought up and given the opportunity to play football. I will always be grateful for that.”
Ramsey had made a heartwarming gesture with his comments about his former employers. For Arsenal and Unai Emery, this game will help further help continue their development. Even though the chinks in their armours were visible, the victory will provide a morale boost to the squad and to Unai Emery, who has come to rebuild Arsenal.
