Thomas Muller News: Bayern Munich Star Picks Between Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi

Thomas Muller news: Bayern Munich star has revealed who he chooses between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo are two of the greatest players ever to play the beautiful game and they still continue to play at the highest level.

The two players dominated the footballing world for more than a decade, winning the Ballon d’Or 12 times between them. Messi won the coveted award a record seven times, while Ronaldo won it on five occasions.

Who between Ronaldo and Messi is the better player is a question and debate that has been going on for long – and one that will perhaps never have a definite answer.

Asked by ESPN to pick between Ronaldo and Messi, Muller chose the former. “I go for Ronaldo, against Messi I have good statistics, against Ronaldo; not that good,” Muller said.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has not had a great start to the season. The Portuguese international has only started in just one of Man Utd’s six Premier League games so far this season.

Ronaldo has featured in all of Man Utd’s games in the English top-flight this season, but five of those have been appearances off the bench. Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag dropped Ronaldo to the bench for their season opener as they faced Brighton.

Ronaldo returned to the starting XI when Man Utd faced Brentford in their next game. The 37-year-old, though, was helpless as Brentford romped to a 4-0 win over the Red Devils.

Man Utd have since played four games in Premier League and Ten Hag has dropped Ronaldo from the starting XI in all those. He did come off the bench in all four matches though.

Ronaldo returned to the starting XI when Man Utd hosted Real Sociedad in their Europa League 22/23 opener, but failed to impress as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat.

Meanwhile, Messi, just like PSG, has had a great start to the season. The Argentine has so far featured in nine games for the French side this season.

Messi has scored four goals – three in Ligue 1 and one in the Trophée des Champions final – and provided seven assists – all in the French top-flight.

The 35-year-old has looked back to his best after a relatively underwhelming first season at PSG. He will be hoping to maintain the form heading into the next games.
