It was yet another day full of transfer rumors and updates for the Premier League’s top six clubs. Arsenal have made significant progress in their pursuit of a PSG defender. For United fans, there is good news and bad news, which one do you want to hear first? So, let’s go through all the major updates of the top six EPL clubs in the transfer market on 15th January:
Arsenal in talks with PSG defender:

After 15 days of the unentertaining transfer market, the Gunners finally have something to look forward to. According to the reports in Goal.com (a highly trustworthy source), Arsenal are close to signing PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa.
The French left-back is in the last six months of his contract, which could help Arsenal in their negotiations with PSG. And Mikel Arteta is in dire need of a left-back after injuries to both Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac. Tierney is out with a dislocated shoulder and will not be back before March/April and Kolasinac is also on the sidelines with a thigh injury. 18-year old winger Bukayo Saka is likely to play as a makeshift LB on the weekend, much to Arteta’s disappointment. “We are playing with full-backs that are not full-backs. They are wingers or central midfielders and could we afford to lose full-backs? No, but we don’t have any full-backs.”
Kurzawa’s signing could solve the left-back issue for Arsenal for the second half of the season. The 27-year old has also been in and out with injuries and has played 13 games for PSG this season.
Ross Barkley on loan to West Ham?

Ross Barkley could move to West Ham and reunite with his former boss David Moyes. The reports from The Mirror suggest that the Englishman could leave for West Ham for a six-month loan. The midfielder has started just 6 league games under Frank Lampard amidst injuries and off-field controversies.
Moyes could definitely use Barkley in West Ham’s relegation battle. The Hammers currently sit 1th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone. Moyes and Barkley have worked together at Everton as the midfielder came from the Merseyside club’s youth academy.
Liverpool target Bundesliga sensation Kai Harvetz

The Reds have reportedly entered the race for Bundesliga young star Kai Harvetz. The 20-year old midfielder made his debut at the age of 16 and has already made 100+ appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool are preparing a £107m bid for the German which would put them ahead of Barcelona and Bayern, according to Mundo Deportivo. This will break Liverpool’s transfer record which was set by Virgil van Dijk’s f £75m arrival from Southampton. But Harvetz’s transfer fee could come down as he will enter the last year of his contract next season. The midfielder, who already has seven international caps is wanted by a number of elite European clubs and Liverpool won’t have it easy for sure.
Manchester City working on a new contract for Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane has been in the news for the past few months despite being on the sidelines due to a long-term injury. The German has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich due to limited game time at City.
But according to the reports in Metro, the 24-year old could end up staying at City after all. The winger’s current contract expires in 2021 and he could sign a new City contract. Sane was close to joining the Bavarian side at the start of this season but the move fell off after he suffered a torn ACL in the very first game of the season. The German is currently recovering from an injury and is close to full fitness.
Young to Inter Milan, Done deal?

According to transfer news specialist, Fabrizio Romano, Ashley Young to Inter Milan deal is all but done. The reporter claimed that the defender will join Inter for €1.5m and we can expect medicals and official confirmation in the next few days. The 34-year old full-back is expected to be in Milan on Friday to complete the formalities.
There isn’t much to update about Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United situation as nothing noteworthy happened on Thursday. The Portuguese have reportedly agreed on personal terms with United but both clubs are yet to reach an agreement.
Mourinho taking things in his own hands

After signing Gedson Fernandes yesterday, Tottenham and Mourinho seem to be on fire in the transfer market. Reports from El Desmarque suggest that Jose Mourinho himself has talked to Joao Cancelo about a potential move to North London. Barcelona are also interested in the right-back but the reports suggest that Spurs are close to securing a £51.2m deal for Cancelo.
After signing for City from Juventus at the start of the season, the Portuguese has started just six Premier League games and is eager for more game-time.
