North London giants Tottenham will try to fend off any interest from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, in order to complete the signing of Bayern Munich’s World Cup winner Mario Gotze in the current transfer window, as per reports coming from Germany. The 24-year-old superstar was part of the national team under coach Joachim Low, after yet another disappointing campaign with the champions of Germany last term.
After failing to secure a place in the starting eleven under former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, the 24 year old superstar was hopeful that things would change with Carlo Ancelotti taking over.
Despite that, things have not improved and the player could now be set to leave the Allianz Arena with Spurs looking to sign the Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool target.
Kop boss Jurgen Klopp was keen to reunite with his former star, though the Blues wanted to add him to their squad as well, as claims had previously confirmed a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
On the other hand, Arsene Wenger’s side were looking to grab hold of this opportunity with both hands, after failing to sign some of their other top targets. The Gunners were keen on strengthening their current attack with Gotze himself stating that he would prefer a move to the Emirates.
Bild has added that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have to beat their domestic rivals and any other club interested in acquiring their target’s services, if they wish to bring him to White Hart Lane in the upcoming days. What happens next, remains to be seen.
