Tottenham Hotspur Striker Harry Kane Has Broken Two Premier League Records Even After Suffering a Humiliating Defeat

Tottenham Hotspur‘s main man Harry Kane broke two goal-scoring records in the North London Derby defeat on Saturday.

Kane scored the only Spurs goal from the spot kick against Arsenal in a 3-1 loss at the Emirates.

That goal was his 44th London derby goal, which overtook Premier League and Arsenal great Thierry Henry’s total of 43. The record was set by Henry when he was a part of the Arsenal.

After a foul on Richarlison by Gabriel Magalhaes, Tottenham was awarded a penalty around the half-hour mark.

The England International scored a fantastic goal from the penalty after Thomas Partey gave the lead with a fine strike. But Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka added their name to the scoresheet to seal the victory for the Gunners at their home stadium.

Though Tottenham ended up losing the match, the 29-year-old striker broke another goal-scoring record. He also became the first player to score 100 away goals in the history of the English Premier League. The second player to score the most away goal is Wayne Roony with 94 goals and the third is Alan Shearer with 87 goals.

The next goal-scorer closest to Kane on this list is 35-year-old Jamie Vardy who is still playing for Leicester City. He has netted 64 goals till now. The chances of beating Kane are unlikely for him at the late stage of his career.

Harry Kane’s first Tottenham Hotspur goal was against Fulham in a Premier League game in 2014 with a result of a 3-1 win for his club. England Captain’s scored 43 more away goals against London-based teams, and 14 of those coming against their biggest north London rivals, Arsenal.

But these records have no meaning to him right now as his team has suffered a humiliating defeat. The game was very intense until Emerson Royal saw a red card around the hour-mark.
