Chelsea faced two transfer windows ban by FIFA citing the violations of Article 19 and Article 18b of the Regulation on the Transfers and Status of Players (RTSP).
Chelsea are compensating for their signing wishes as they were unable to make a move in the transfer window of 2019. The allegations raised on the signing of the Christian Pulisic deal turned illegal for the global governing body of the game FIFA. ESPN has explained the legality of the whole incident from the perspective of the game.
There were a bunch of transfer deals in the action plan of Marina Granovskaia, one of the best club directors of world football.
The list was prioritized by the trending centre-forward of that time Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt. But Spanish giants Real Madrid won the deal for €60 m in the hope of a replacement for the attacking void made by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
Jovic switch to Madrid
The Serbian landed in Spanish capital with a ton of dream but the challenge was beyond the imagination of the player. Replacing ‘GOAT’ Ronaldo is the threatening risk for strikers and Madrid is still unsettled by the departure of Portuguese talisman.
The signing of Hazard from Chelsea and the return of Zidane were the balancing act Madrid played to revive the spirit of 13-time European champions.
Jovic deal turned into a disaster after the season and he failed to keep his call in the lineup as young options like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo stepped into the attack with more challenge. 2 goals and 3 assists from 32 games is the Spanish collection of Jovic and last night he went out on loan to his home in Germany Frankfurt. The 23-year-old has got a contract in Madrid till 2025 which is quite ambiguous in nature. By the way, Chelsea is relaxing after seeing all this. They made a dozen of transfers last season which broke the transferring bank after a season ban. In the attack, they won the Werner deal which is more convincing than Luka Jovic and Marina Granovskaia saved some cash on that.
Unsettled Jovic and Jackpot for Chelsea
Last year, Chelsea signed Wener, Pulisic, Ziyech, and Kai Havertz in the frontline. The transfer ban also made an impact in Stamford Bridge in terms of finding more talents from its academy. The invention of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, and Reece James from the academy helped in the survival of Blues in 2019. (Football London)
Mason Mount is now the first choice for Lampard in the midfield and the ban helped these stars to win more showtime in West London. Now, Lampard has got a brilliant squad and the pressure is more for the club legend. They are pushing hard for a title and they managed to stay in the top six for the last few seasons.
The 2020/21 season was packed with big dreams for the Blues and Lampard has to find perfect combinations with the huge number of options he posses.
Lampard has got problems in the midfield in finding a winning combo and the experiment is still waiting for a convincing result. Chelsea is now placed 9th in the table with 26 points from 17 games.
The January transfer window seems to be less attractive for the Blues as they are settling down with the existing options. Even though rumors are still heating up with the defensive and midfield options and Stamford Bridge is still driving clueless on it.
