Jose Mourinho’s decision of letting Marouane Fellaini in the dying moments of the game backfired spectacularly.
No sooner had the Belgian international replaced Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 86th minute, then he had given away a penalty by bringing Idrissa Gueye down in the box.

Leighton Baines fired away the penalty straight into the net, bringing Man United from a position of victory to settle for a 1-1 draw against Everton, Fellaini’s former club (not that it is of any concern).
The United Twitter fanbase was however empathetic towards the Belgian and understood things from his point of view and how difficult it is to adjust to the pace of the game when coming on late.
That would be in alternate universe where everything is nice, but this is Twitter, they ripped him a new one. Here are some of the best ribs:
I tell you who would have done a better job at closing out that game than Fellaini: Bastian Schweinsteiger.

West Ham: Schweinsteiger comes on late and helps sets up a Goal..
Everton: Fellaini comes on late and helps Everton score..

3 managers and 100 games at United and Fellaini is still stealing a living. What does he contribute to the team?

Jose Mourinho couldn’t escape the fire either.
Imagine having Bastian Schweinsteiger at your club but you allow Marouane Fellaini to play over him, Massive error by José Mourinho. #mufc
