UAE T20 League: The UAE T20 League (International League T20), will debut in January 2023. However, the event is already starting to take shape gradually as team owners have begun to hire staff. Tom Moody, a well-known coach, has been hired by Lancer Capitals to serve as their director of cricket.

The Glazer Family, who also own the renowned European soccer team Manchester United, is the owner of the Capitals. Moody served in the same role for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and Sri Lanka Cricket. Nevertheless, it is a no-brainer that the veteran is an expert in his field.

The former Australian all-rounder, 56, has played for several domestic teams. This includes positions as a coach, consultant, and director in England, Canada, and the West Indies.

Additionally, he will be in charge of creating a brand new team for the Lancer Capitals. The Capitals will be one of six distinct teams fighting for the UAE T20 League title.

UAE T20 League: R Sridhar Becomes Team Director for Capri Global

UAE T20 League: As a director of cricket, R Sridhar, a former Indian fielding coach, was hired by Capri Global. They are another one of the investors in the UAE T20 League. Rajesh Sharma, an Indian businessman with ties to India, is also the owner. Sharma recently purchased the Rajasthan team for the upcoming Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) event.

In 2014, Sridhar worked as a member of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) staff. He then became the head coach of the cricket squad representing Andhra.

The UAE T20 League was launched by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) last month. Six teams will compete in the competition, which runs from January 6 to February 12. Furthermore, 34 matches will be played as per the schedule.

Three teams will, notably, be owned by Indian Premier League owners. The names of the teams have not yet been chosen, yet. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals are the three parent teams in question.

Reliance industries own the five-time champs Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan and GMR own the Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals respectively.

The Abu Dhabi franchise has already been acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders. In the meantime, the GMR of Delhi Capitals has been linked to the Dubai franchise. There are also two other Indian companies on the board. They are the Adani Group and Capri Group respectively, neither of which has a franchise deal in principle yet.

Adani Group is one of the richest corporations in Asia. The great Zimbabwean cricketer Andy Flower is now being sought to serve as the new team’s director of cricket. Other teams are likewise aiming to begin gradually growing their teams. Aside from the drafting method, each team is eligible to sign five players.
