Real Madrid are searching high and low for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and UEFA president has revealed if the Los Blancos are waiting for a decision to make a move on a PSG star.
With Real Madrid losing Cristiano Ronaldo in a shock transfer to Juventus, the La Liga giants have travelled all over the five great leagues looking for a potential replacement. But so far Real Madrid and President Florentino Perez have failed to find their man despite shortlisting some of the world’s best players. However, now with PSG in potential trouble for spending too much money, according to reports from Dario AS, Real Madrid are awaiting UEFA’s ruling.
If it goes against PSG, then the Parisians won’t be able to make a move for Kylian Mbappe, despite the Ligue 1 giant agreeing to a loan move with an option to buy with Monaco. However, the loan move will end on Monday the 27th, after which PSG have to shell out 180 million to Monaco. This according to the report by Dario AS “This would mean the club will be in breach of two of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations related to staff salary limits and account balances, which could force them to sell the player or give him back to Monaco.”
The PSG star has been in incredible form for the Ligue 1 giants, both last season and even this season despite all the pressure on his shoulders. With 21 goals and a further 14 assists, the then 18-year-old was a crucial cog in Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco machine before a move to PSG beckoned.

The France international has been instrumental for PSG and has gone on to win his second Ligue title, all the while helping the Parisians re-dominated France. In the process, however, the youngster has gone on to score 21 goals and create a further 17 assists for his attacking partners. That combined with his incredible performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, has sent his name and popularity into the stratosphere.
But despite all the rumors, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has revealed that the rumor that Real Madrid are waiting on a decision on PSG’s potential sanctions, isn’t true. “The decision on PSG will be taken later,” he said. “It’s not true that Real Madrid are waiting for this decision.”
Author’s take:
Kylian Mbappe is a very exciting youngster to watch playing football. His pace, trickery, ability in front of goal all bares a striking resemblance to Thierry Henry. But while many moved on from Ligue 1, Mbappe has stuck to a plan that he created as a youngster, one that he believes, would have him one day sitting on the throne of world football.
A move to Real Madrid right now could potentially hurt him, especially given the burden to replace one of football’s modern legends.
