United News: It will be a new beginning for Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag. As of now, Cavani, Mata, Lingard, Matic, and Pogba have already left the club as free agents. There are others like Martial and Baily who have time left on their contract but might choose to depart with the club.

United is expecting a revamp under Ten Hag, but since most of the departures are free the club will have to make a significant investment on new signings. United will listen to offers for Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, and Axel Tuanzebe.

The club will hope to generate some revenue from the sale of any of these individuals. Although it wouldn’t be significant and that is why United has already allotted some money for Ten Hag to begin proceedings.

It will be crucial for Manchester United to maintain depth in their lineup. While some of the slots can be filled up by upcoming Academy players, they will still need new signings.

United News: Erik Ten Hag may get a figure of around £120 million to save United.

If you look at the departures, most of them did not have a big part to play in the last couple of years. Paul Pogba, Cavani, and Matic were the ones getting regular game time.

Mata and Lingard were just adding to United’s humongous wage bill. Pogba too did not play nearly enough as to what was expected of him. On the other hand, the French Superstar had a salary of around £15.08million per year.

As per reports Juventus are willing to offer him half that currently. The point is that United was overpaying a lot of players who weren’t crucial to the squad. As per reports from the Mirror, these departures will save United £48.44million in basic wages.

Anthony Martial is also on the list for United as he earns a salary of about £13 million. However, the forward has been completely unimpressive for United as well as Sevilla. It is very much possible that United would want to offload him.

While fans would sure love some big names, that might not be the best thing for United right now. The team has very low chemistry and that’s the first thing they need to work upon as a group.

Secondly, United does need a proper CDM as Fred and McTominay are just not good enough defensively. There are talks of bringing in Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona and he would be a really good addition.

If not Frenkie the focus should still be on a CDM as United desperately needs an anchor. They have enough attacking options and do not need a big signing there. The defense could use some bolstering, especially the full-back positions.

United could take some insights from the players Mikel Arteta signed for Arsenal. He identified the team’s needs and brought in players who can gel with the squad. Instead of premier signings, functional ones would be more important for United.
