Manchester United’s pursuit of Anderson Talisca has ended on a sour note as the player has moved to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande
Jose Mourinho will have to wait for his third signing this summer with Anderson Talisca moving to China in the face of United’s interest. The Brazilian had been on loan at Beskitas for the past two season, scoring 37 times in 80 appearances. The Turkish champions had an option to sign the player for just £21 million but they supposedly decided against making the move. Meanwhile, O Jogo reported that United had submitted a bid in a region of £35 million to lure Talisca to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old was also monitored by Liverpool with the Reds looking to add a versatile forward to their ranks. They, however, had moved on to other targets and never expressed concrete interest in the Brazil under-23 international.
Guangzhou Evergranda have sealed a loan move making a third successive temporary move for the player. He will be spending the rest of 2018 in China with the club’s website stating:
“Guangzhou Evergrande has officially announced the signing of an agreement with the Brazilian Anderson Talisca, who has been loaned for six months. Once the player has passed his medical in the coming days, he will fly to Italy and join the team in summer training to prepare for second half of the season.”
Meanwhile Guangzhou, the seven-time defending champions have had a mixed bag beginning to their campaign this time around. They will be hoping that Talisca’s mid-season arrival will provide them with a much-needed impetus to build their title defence upon.
Manchester United had been linked with Anderson Talisca ever since the end of last season. His arrival would have provided Jose Mourinho with a much need option on the right flank. Liverpool will too now turn their attention to other targets such as Xherdan Shaqiri and Simon Moses now that Talisca is no more an attainable target.
