Barcelona are reportedly ready to let go of their young defender in the January transfer window.
According to Marca, Barcelona are willing to let go of their young right-back Moussa Wague in the January transfer window. Along with the Senegalese defender, Carles Alena might also leave Camp Nou this January.
The Catalan giants are looking to limit their squad ahead of the January window. Both Moussa Wague and Carles Alena might leave Camp Nou but the reports do not suggest whether it’s a loan or permanent deal.
Barcelona are not having the best of start to the season under Valverde. Barcelona’s star Lionel Messi suffered a latest setback and Valverde has to look back at his younger options. However, he doesn’t have Moussa Wague and Carles Alena in his plans.

As per the report, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti might also go to the transfer list. La Liga giants are looking to collect funds to make another bid in January for their former Brazilian winger Neymar.
Moussa Wague has represented the National team at World Cup and later Barcelona B side in 2018 before being promoted to the senior side. In this season, Carles Alena has made only one start in this season, while Wague is yet to make an appearance for the club this season.
Authors’ Take:
Wague is a useful defender, who can offer defense as well as attack from the right-back position and can cause some problems from the opposite flank. The 20-year-old defender has made only three appearances for the club last season, averaging two tackles per game and 1.3 percentage interceptions.
The Senegalese has good pace and can cause overlapping runs as well. He could be a good choice and competition to Portuguese right-back Semedo, who joined from Benfica. La Masia graduate Sergio Roberto is considered to be the second choice for the right-back position. Hence, Wague can prefer a loan move and provide competition to Semedo on return from loan.
