Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie was branded a ‘stupid motherf***er’ for his controversial scenes during yesterday’s match.
Robin Van Persie’s Fenerbahce won 1-0 over rivals Besiktas in the Turkish Cup on Sunday night. The match saw some controversial antics which involved the 33-year-old Dutchman. He also scored the only goal of the match which turned out be the winner.
But on two occasions, the former Man Utd striker was engaged in controversial flashpoints. The first one saw him involving in an incident off the ball with Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic. Van Persie appeared to knee Tosic in the ribs before grappling with his head. But following this incident, the Besiktas defender was sent off for his reaction while Van Persie remained on the field.
In addition to this, Tosic’s wife, Jelena Karleusa got involved in an issue in the social media. She branded Van Persie a ‘stupid motherf***er’ for his behaviour during the game.
She tweeted “R. van Persie is one stupid motherf**ker. Brake a leg asshole!”
The Serbian pop star has already sold millions of her albums in the Balkans. Meanwhile, Tosic is a former Queens Park Rangers defender who has 19 caps for his national side. But later Karleusa was asked to delete the post by her husband.

She later tweeted “Dusko asked me to remove my tweet about Persie, and I did. What can I say, I don’t like dirty players. Kisses to all Besiktas fans!”
The second incident happened when Van Persie scored a goal in the second half of the match. Later he went on to slid on his knees to celebrate in front of his former Arsenal team-mate Oğuzhan Özyakup. Van Persie scored the winner as Fenerbahce beat Besiktas 1-0 in Turkish Cup.
After the match, Özyakup said that he was a good friend to Van Persie [without naming him]. He added that sometimes people show their real face on the football field.
“I have a lot to say about the incidents on the field. But I won’t say them,” Özyakup said. He added “Just one thing – I was very good friends with a certain player on the field. That changed today. Sometimes you see the real face of a footballer on the field.”
Özyakup was one of the Arsenal’s academy product who later moved to Besiktas in 2012. He played in Arsenal’s academy side between 2008 and 2012 before making a couple of first-team appearances.
