The agent of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has insisted that the Nigerian international wants to stay at the Italian side despite interest from many clubs.
Osimhen was linked with a move away from Napoli in the previous transfer window. One rumour linked the 23-year-old with a move to Manchester United in a swap deal that would have seen Cristiano Ronaldo join the Serie A side.
Despite rumours of a move away, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda had back then insisted his client did not want to leave Napoli. Calenda said Osimhen wants to play in the Champions League with Napoli.
A move never materialized and Osimhen stayed put at Napoli at the end of the summer transfer window.

Calenda has now once again insisted that Osimhen wants to stay at Napoli and that he is happy with the project at the club.
“There are many clubs interested in Victor but he wants to stay, he’s really happy with Napoli project”, Calenda told Radio Kiss Kiss, per Fabrizio Romano.
He added: “We’ve been very clear this summer after strange rumours [Man Utd and Ronaldo swap deal], he wanted to stay.”
The 23-year-old has been playing for Napoli since signing for the Italian side in the summer of 2020. Osimhen has a contract that runs until 2025 with Napoli.
Since making a move to Napoli, Osimhen has featured in 70 games for the Italian side across all competitions. He has also racked up 32 goals for the Serie A outfit.
Osimhen has made eight appearances for Napoli so far in the 22/23 season and has amassed four goals. He scored three of those in the Italian top flight.
Meanwhile, Napoli have had a stellar start to the season and is unbeaten in the Serie A this season. They sit top of the points table with 26 points from their first 10 matches in the league.
Napoli have eight wins and two draws in 10 matches they have played in the league this season. Luciano Spalletti’s side have a two-point lead over second-placed Atalanta, who have 24 points.
Napoli have also been impressive in the Champions League, winning all four matches they have so far played in the European competition this season. They top Group A – which also has Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers – with 12 points.
