The ongoing edition of the BBL has witnessed so many engaging contests for the viewers. It is so good to see Australia’s franchise cricket producing so many good moments during the passage of play.
Batsmen, bowlers, and fielders went about their business and in the process, they stunned the audience with their efforts. So far, all eight franchises have played 12 matches. Sydney Sixers are dominating the tournament by sitting on top of the points table with as many as 32 points (8 wins, 4 defeats).
Perth Scorchers come next on the table with 28 points including 7 wins, 4 defeats, 1 No Result. Scorchers have a better Net Run Rate (+0.986) than the table-toppers who secured (+0.310). Sydney Thunder has also performed quite well in the tournament after securing 7 wins in the competition.
They gained 27 points and are sitting in third place in the points table. There are only 8 more games left in the group stage and after which, there will be an Eliminator, Qualifier, Knockout, Challenger as the BBL will come to a close with an intriguing final on February 6.
Neser takes a stunner in BBL
He took 1 wicket his name while also taking 2 catches on the field. While the first one was a regulation catch, the second one turned out to be a stunner. In fact, it wasn’t that easy to take the catch.

Hessen had to cover some ground only to dive towards his left-hand side to pull off a one-handed stunner. The incident happened during the third ball of the 18th over bowled by Peter Siddle.
As Siddle delivered a good length delivery, Mitchell Swepson tried to go for a big shot but he ended up mistiming the ball completely. The ball went high in the air as Swepson had his eyes on the ball and perfectly timed his dive to take the catch.
The commentators, fans were in awe of the sensational catch taken by Neser. The video of the same is doing the rounds on all social media platforms. Meanwhile, the bowler Siddle was so impressed that he went up to Nessen and hugged him for his spectacular catch.
An easy win for Adelaide Strikers
Michael Neser’s sensational catch brought the innings to a close as Adelaide Strikers comfortably won the game by 86 runs. They not only won the game but also steered to fourth place in the BBL points table.
Alex Carey top-scored for Strikers with an unbeaten 101 off 62 as he guided his team to 197/5. In reply, the Strikers bundled out Brisbane Heat for 115. Wes Agar was the pick of the bowlers for Strikers as he accounted for 4 dismissals.
Peter Siddle was the next-best bowler as he took 3 wickets. Strikers’ wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey who struck 10 fours and 3 sixes to his beautifully-constructed century was adjudged the man of the match.
