Vinicius Jr. positive of Madrid Future after Zidane backing.

Vinicius Jr has revealed the backing he has received from Zinedine Zidane after the Brazilian’s somewhat mixed start to life at Real Madrid.

Vinicius Jr. had a mixed start to his Real Madrid career when he joined the Los Blancos in Summer 2018. He has shown the fans and the club what he is capable of but it hasn’t worked for him the way he would’ve liked. Vinicius Jr. joined Madrid from Flamengo for 45 million Euros. Madrid signed the youngster ahead of the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG. Although his first season wasn’t the best for the club, Zidane is optimistic about the player’s future.

Here is what Vinicius was told by Zidane……

“Zidane always tells me to be relaxed and to keep growing because if I do so, and because I am so well treated by everybody, he says I’ll be playing there for a long time,” he told a news conference (via Goal). “Much like Marcelo and Casemiro, who have been there for a long time.” “When I was playing youth football, I did this a little and now I’ve come to play on the right at Real Madrid,” he said.

He further added, “I think it’s important for me and for my career so that I can play well on both sides. Of course, I find the right side more difficult as I’m not so used to playing like this, but I’m trying to improve day by day, at each training session with Real Madrid.”

He also said“The beginning of the season is also a bit difficult. New players always are tested and Real Madrid now has plenty of players. We are playing more and Zidane always talks to all the players, he gives opportunities to all of us at the beginning, so that we can have a good season.”

After a shameful 2018-19 campaign, Real Madrid brought in a no. of new faces. Some notable players were Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic Rodrygo Goes and more. This means there would be more completion for the front 3 positions.

However, Vinicius feels confident and hopes for a better start to the are campaign. Vinicius has played in all 3 La Liga matches so far. Starting against Celta as well. Last year Vinicius made 33 appearances for the Los Blancos which include 18 La Liga appearances. He managed 4 goals and 8 assists in that time and will be looking for more this season. An injury-prone player, he will be hoping for more minutes under Zidane.

Author’s Take

Vinicius is a really great talent who has great ability to dribble and run fast at the same time. He can use his pace to spread the game on flanks as well as can cut inside. The unfortunate thing is he is in Real Madrid who has a history of which shows great players who lost their touch and ended there career on low.
