It has been thirteen seasons now and Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to prove worthy of serious title challengers. Even though they reached the IPL finals on three occasions, they failed in all the crucial matches.
With nothing to show for in the trophy cabinet, RCB captain Virat Kohli is still facing the wrath of netizens online. The Royal Challengers reached the finals in 2008 and lost to now-defunct franchise Deccan Chargers.
Two seasons later, they reached the final and played against Chennai Super Kings. But unfortunately, they lost the match. In IPL 2016 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.
In the ongoing season of the IPL, SRH knocked RCB out of the competition. SRH beat RCB by 6 wickets with two balls to spare in the eliminator. Kane Williamson was named the Player of the Match for his terrific fifty.

“We spoke of creating memories as a team and I think we have done that a lot this season. And when we said this is probably the best environment we’ve played in, for RCB, we were damn right about it. It’s been an amazing time together,” RCB captain said in a video posted by RCB’s Twitter Handle.
Virat Kohli – leading run-scorer in IPL

As a batsman, Kohli has been the consistent run-scorer in the history of the Indian Premier League. On the downside, he failed to live up to his expectations as a captain. Kohli hasn’t won an IPL title at RCB.
RCB skipper is the leading run-scorer of IPL. Having played 192 matches, he scored 5878 at an average of 38.16. It was not that easy to score these many runs in the cash-rich IPL but the world-class batsman made it look so.
The right-handed batsman has remained unbeaten 30 times. He is the second player behind Chris Gayle (6) to score most centuries in the IPL. Kohli has smashed as many as 5 centuries and 39 half-centuries so far.
There have been countless occasions where RCB captain Virat Kohli single-handedly destroyed the opposition bowlers in the league. He registered his highest score of 113 against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2016 season.
He is tagged as a consummate surgeon at the crease for his consistency and for his ability to play a wide range of shots. Virat Kohli has by far smashed 503 fours and 201 sixes in IPL. He has a pretty good strike-rate of 130.73.
