Vivian Richards made his cricket debut on 22 November 1974 against India. Richards won the inaugural edition of the Cricket World Cup in 1975 and then later in 1979.
Richards made his ODI debut on 7 June 1975 against Sri Lanka. He has played 187 ODI matches and has managed to score 6,721 runs with an average of 47.00. He managed to Smash 11 centuries and 45 half-centuries with a high score of 189 runs.
In Test Cricket, he has played 121 matches and scored 8,540 runs. He batted with an average of 50.24 and smashed 24 centuries and 45 half-centuries with a high score of 291 runs.
Richards won 27 matches out of 50 matches played as a captain and only lost 8 matches. He was ranked as the no. 1 Batsman multiple times because of his aggressive batting style which helped him score runs quickly in short period.
