Brendon McCullum almost pulled off the catch of the century when he leapt up in the air with an outstretched left hand to stop the ball from going over the boundary playing for the Brisbane Heat in the 2018-19 edition of the Big Bash League. The former New Zealand skipper might have retired from international cricket back in 2016 but he still remains one of the most agile cricketers in the world.
McCullum was fielding at long off when Mitchell Marsh tried to hit the ball for a six straight down the ground in the 14th over of the Scrotchers innings but failed to time it as well as he would have liked to. The ball was travelling and was beyond him but that did not stop the 37 year old from taking a giant leap in the thin air with his left arm outstretched. The ball however did not stick to his hand but McCullum had almost pulled off a goalkeeper like save and stopped the ball from going over the fence.
