In the ongoing match between Sylhet Sixers and Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League, Sixers skipper David Warner did something extraordinary and almost unbelievable.
Warner, who is a left-hander batted turned into a right-hander and slammed Chris Gayle for a six straight past his head. It was quite a sight for the fans gathered at the Sylhet International cricket stadium. The entire stadium stood and applauded the effort from Warner which he pulled off to perfection.
It was the 19th over of the Sixers innings when Warner went out of his way to score 16 runs from the Gayle over. The first three balls of his over, saw Gayle bowl two dot balls and give away only two runs. Then, Warner decided to bat right-handed much to the amazement of the crowd. The fourth, fifth and sixth ball was then scored off by Warner for 4, 6 and 6. You can watch the video here.

Warner along with his Australian teammate Steve Smith are still serving the ban imposed on them by Cricket Australia. Both are expected to return to the Australian squad for the 2019 World Cup. However, Smith has succumbed an elbow injury in the league which might see his international return get even more delayed. Warner will make a comeback to IPL 2019 as the skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The BCCI on their part disallowed Smith and Warner from participating in the IPL last year following the board’s ban on their players.
Meanwhile, the Australian cricket team without the duo lost the second ODI against India in Adelaide which saw an MS Dhoni masterclass win the match for his team besides Virat Kohli’s 39th ODI ton. India’s win thus sets up a perfect finish to the ODI series with the final ODI to be played in Melbourne.
