It was a day to forget for the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, losing their opening T20 against defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets inside 18 overs. Virat Kohli’s men failed to come good with the bat and ended up getting bundled out for 70 after being sent in to bat by the home side.
It was Deepak Chahar who started the proceedings for CSK with the new ball in the powerplay. Chahar started off pretty well giving away just five runs in the first over before being handed yet another over with the new ball. Deepak Chahar did not disappoint his skipper and kept the pressure on, bowling four dot balls to Virat Kohli before coming up with an absolute disasterclass of a delivery in the last ball of the over.
The ball slipped out of Chahar’s hand as he attempted the slower delivery off the back of the hand. It ended up going over the head of Kohli, spoiling all the gone work done until that point. Deepak Chahal however nailed the yorker on the free hit delivery, leaving the RCB skipper with no option but to get his bat just in time to play it back to the bowler, making it an excellent over with just three runs coming off it.
