The battle between two most successful teams in the history of the IPL is shaping up nicely with the Chennai Super Kings having lost a couple of early wickets chasing a mighty total of 171. The final flourish to the Mumbai innings however was provided by none other than Indian all rounder Hardik Pandya. Pandya smashed a boundary and three massive sixes to remain unbeaten on 25 off just 8 balls as Mumbai added 45 runs in their last 2 overs to power their way to 170/5 in the allotted 20 overs.
One of the major highlights of the innings came in the fourth ball of the 20th over of the Mumbai innings when Pandya played a helicopter shot to Dwayne Bravo into the stands. It was a yorker length delivery onto the stumps and Pandya, who was deep in the crease waiting for a similar length, used his wrists to perfection to dispatch over mid wicket for a huge six.
Pandya hit one more six off the last ball to make it 29 over the last over from Bravo. It was full length delivery bowled wide outside the off stumps and Pandya once again used to wrists to perfection to lift it over deep backward point for another maximum. The late flourish from the Indian allrounder ensured that Mumbai powered their way to a more than competitive total after the scrappy start from the openers.
