After a historic double against Australia on their home ground, the Virat Kohli led Indian team arrived at the Auckland Airport for the first ODI against New Zealand on Sunday. The men in blue are scheduled to play 5 ODIs against the BlackCaps starting from January 23 which will be followed by 3 T20Is starting from February 6. The preparations for the 2019 World Cup have already started and Team India are slowly getting into the groove with only four months left before the mega event.
The men in blue received a warm reception from the Indian fans at the airport. Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who arrived with his wife and Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma received a standing ovation from the fans at the airport.
Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni however received the best of the reactions from the Auckland crowd as he walked out of the International Arrivals door at the Auckland Airport with his natural style and grace. Other cricketers like Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav and Mohammad Shami were also center to the celebrations of the Indian fans and were spotted obliging them with their autographs.

MS Dhoni bagged the man of the series award in the ODI series against Australia, slamming three consecutive half centuries to guide the Indian team to a 2-1 win over the hosts in their own backyard. The 37 year old amassed 193 runs in the three innings including a 114 ball 87 in the decider at the MCG to take India over the line with four balls to spare.
