Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis suffered an embarrassing fall off a bike while celebrating his side’s 3-0 series win over Bangladesh at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. Mendis was spotted riding a bike during the team’s post-match celebrations and skidded off the vehicle after it slipped.

Mendis wad riding a bike which was awarded to the winning team in the post-match presentation. He also had a friend sitting on the back as the bike slipped while taking a turn in the ground due to wet outfield. The guards and staff present inside the ground rushed towards the bike and helped Mendis and another player get back on their feet. The Sri Lankan batsman later got up and picked up the bike from the ground. Fortunately though, none of the players suffered an injury.

Sri Lanka completed a whitewash over Bangladesh after winning the third ODI by a massive margin of 122 runs. Angelo Mathews was once again the star performer with the bat as he played a brilliant knock of 87 runs off 90 balls laced with eight fours and a solitary six. He was supported well by Mendis (54), Kusal Perera (42) and captain Dimuth Karunaratne (46) as Sri Lanka managed to post 294/8 on the board in their 50 overs. Shafiul Islam and Soumya Sarkar picked up three wickets each for Bangladesh.

Chasing a competitive target of 295, Bangladesh looked completely out of sorts as none of their batsmen except Soumya Sarkar managed to deliver. The top-order once again crumbled as Kasun Rajitha removed both the openers Anamul Haque (14) and Tamim Iqbal (2) cheaply before Dasun Shanaka ran through the middle-order. Sarkar scored 69 runs off 86 balls but his efforts were not enough to take his team over the line as Sri Lanka ended the series with an emphatic win.
