Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been one such figure in the Indian cricket team who is admired not only by fans but other cricketers as well from around the globe. Afghanistan wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Shehzad is one of the many cricketers who adore the former Indian skipper and try to emulate him to any extent on the pitch.
Mohammad Shehzad himself happens to be one of Afghanistan’s biggest stars and is one of the most exciting batsmen in the world to watch when in full flow. He is currently playing for the Chittagong Vikings in the 2019 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. In a recent fixture between Chittagong Vikings and Dhaka Dynamites, the Afghanistan wicketkeeper batsman pulled off a brilliant no look run out to dismiss Dynamites opener Mizanur Rahman which would certainly make his idol proud.

The incident occurred in the 4th over of the Dhaka Dynamites innings when Rahaman came down the track while facing Vikings spinner Nayeem Hasan and tried to whip the ball into the leg side but ended up getting beaten all ends up. The ball took a deflection off the inside edge of his pads and was lying in front of the stumps. Seeing that the batsman was still out of his crease, Shehzad collected the ball calmly and flicked it onto the stumps, exactly in Dhoni-esque style.
The throw from Mohammad Shehzad was dead accurate despite him not looking back at the stumps while trying to make the flick the ball on. The decision was referred upstairs to the TV umpire, who decided after watching a number of replays from various angles that Rahaman was short of his ground. It was certainly a close call but it was the right decision which prevailed in the end.
