Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni may no longer be in his prime but he continues to remain one of the most loved and respected cricketers around the globe. The veteran always seems to make the headlines wherever he goes, be it in India, Australia, England or South Africa. Dhoni enjoys a tremendous fan following even at the age of 37 and the cricketing community once again received a glimpse of the same when he walked out to bat during the first T20I against Australia at Vizag on Sunday.
The fans in the stands went absolutely berserk watching him make his way to the middle at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. The noise was deafening on a ground where the former Indian skipper has many fond memories. It was in the very stadium that Dhoni had scored a blistering 148 against Pakistan in 2005 to start his journey in international cricket. The 37 year old is the only skipper in the world to have won all three major ICC Titles but it is the veteran’s humble next door boy image which endears him to the hearts of his fans more than his achievements as a cricketer.
